so many things

i feel like i haven't blogged in a while. let's see. what's happened lately? cristina and i met up on friday at panera to meet about the batch. people are so funny when they answer the phone - both pia and dexie had the same reaction "uh oh" and then they gave a sigh of relief when we asked them. you guys are too funny. we were so grateful that we got plenty of yes's and just a handful of maybes, but they followed up with"we need some time to pray about it." we'll be praying with you guys to make sure that this is your time. if not, let us know and we'll make different arrangements for you - muahaha. just kidding. or not. we still haven't finished asking all of our speakers so if you're reading this thinking they didn't ask me to do anything yet, don't get so comfortable just yet. but please pray for us - the batch is six weeks away!

saturday was marianne and gary's wedding. sorry i've been slow to post pictures. noreen was speedy - hers were up the next day! i was quite surprised at the shawl thing - i had to buy a shawl because sleeveless clothing was not allowed - i liked the shawl i got though. then reg, ang, arlene and i met up with franny at the shank and then to sushi. yummy.

here's a little backstory to reg's other classic story of the night. there was an old joke between our hs friends that if you got sex, then your hearing was perfect - like you could hear a pin drop. so when you didn't get any, you were deaf. well, the whole night throughout dinner and coffee and second hand smoke, i kept not hearing what people were saying or making up what people were saying to what i was hearing. so, reg, in her "too bad i have to europe" voice says, "kay, you either need to clean your ears or get some" we all laughed - i thought it was very quick-witted. reg later told me she was glad i thought it was funny because she didn't want me to take it as a low blow. but really, it was impeccable timing.

sunday i went to Mass at St. Liz. they have a new pastor there - Fr. John Keese. very different from Msgr. Killeen. Msgr. just retired but he's still the pastor emeritus at St. Liz. Fr. John is very energetic and talks really fast. he seems to be trying to adapt very quickly so I know he'll be just fine. I went to work right after Mass.

Monday I went to go visit Joey straight after work - I was starving! I was talking to Mina as I was deciding what to eat for breakfast and she told me that if I got the carnitas scramble then it would go straight to my hips and that I wouldn't look good in any wedding dress - how sad! i said i think i may have to re-organize my bridesmaids! joey and i later watched pirates of the caribbean. i love johnny depp, keira knightley and orlando bloom. i'm not sure in what order. but i love them all nonetheless. i think i wanted more but i know there's a third movie so i guess i can't judge it until later. weird because in trilogies, i usually like the second one. for instance, two towers was my fave of the LOTR trilogy. ok, that was just one example but still.

I had class on Tuesday ... weird functioning during the day. really weird.

Today I met up with Dana for lunch. she too suggested panera. i had never even heard of this place until friday and then i had it twice within a week! it's pretty good though and there's a lot of different things to try (although i did get the same salad again) so i was okay with it. dana told me about her man and it makes me want to meet him even more - he's passed the two week mark, actually doubled and is almost going to triple it and i still haven't met him. maybe i'm too scary to meet. just kidding. but he may wonder about your choice in friends if we meet. i'm actually very shy when i meet new people. so curious i am.

I ordered the bowling trophies for the tourney today. one team and five individual - even engraved. wow. hopefully it will all turn out well! ok, next time i'll put up some pictures - going to the dashboard concert tomorrow. going to go read now.

keeping jason and his family in my prayers. that's a tough one. watch over them Kuya Jess and keep them in your loving arms.
