hooray for bowling

so the days bowling fundraiser was this past saturday and it was so much fun! it was a little hectic at first because we wanted to make sure that everyone was there on time and lo, and behold! they were - that's rare because most of us are filipino. anyway, once we started bowling it was a madhouse! there was cheering and laughing and running around (i think cristina and i were the only ones running running around, but still, running around) it was a really good time and we raised some money too! but, for sure, there will be another tourney - everyone's talking about how they're going to bring their ringers the next time! hopefully we can fill the bowling alley next time - that would be sooo awesome! we wouldn't even have to charge staffer fees if we filled the bowling alley because it would pay for itself! and here goes the pix. gbox is actually working again so i will definitely post the tourney pix this week:

here are the organizers (that's me and cristina) with the trophies - this is the closest we were going to get to them because we sure weren't going to win them. i think the bobblehead was the cutest one! i wanted to get the individual first place trophies as bobbleheads as well but i didn't know the ratio of men to women per team so i didn't know how many to order.
and there were special cameos too! thanks for coming out and supporting and just hanging out.
here are the o's with tootsie, kiana and evan. look jerome, you taught evan how to blink in pictures!
arnold and kiana - she, too, is closing her eyes! they all got the memo
pampy made an appearance with emily - thanks for coming out from palmdale emily!
i asked my momma to come with me to man the food table. she kept telling me who kept stealing the brownies by not walking over to the other side and just sliding their hands right through the bars. i'm glad you guys enjoyed my cooking. i'll experiment with different things other than spaghetti. i think i'll make lasagna for recharge and yes there will be more brownies.
here is the combined team of team pan de coco. aren't the pins cute? good job audrey! it's alex, joel, edvin, kuya dennis, herman, mark, mike, audrey, ate cherise and sharon. go team! they're the oldies but goodies. we kept referring to them as the over 30 crowd. haha. sorry edvin and audrey, i know you're not over 30 yet. but they were having such a good time. happy birthday to kuya dennis! and he even got a trophy on his birthday!
this is joey's team. they can just be called round eyes aka the non-asian team. haha. just kidding. i just noticed that now. anyway, that's david, teresa, cassie, joey and vincent. cassie is joey's sister and vincent is joey's cousin. go team!
this is the original green team (originally my team but i had filled the spot and ran to another team). that's my (in my green shirt), lauren, rob, cel and aileen. rob, lauren and cel are college and high school friends and aileen is my friend from work. it turns out she's glenn's cousin! small world huh?
this is team Going Postal! Ray, Ray, Jimmy, Mel and Chris. bringing it back to the old school. thanks for coming out guys! go irvine!
here's the second green team - cristina didn't get the memo. j/k. she got my memo because we had to match. it's kathee, kirsten, cristina, marites and meechy. go green!
i feel bad that i didn't get a picture of the irvine boys team. i think i was running around so i have half of them here with team postal and the other three on the next picture. here's chris and gp with chris and mel
and the rest of the irvine boys team - mel, derrick and joe. joe was the one who was so conveniently in front of the brownies. haha. you guys put up a really close fight! it was really close between you and the PDC team! it just gives you motivation to come back and win the next time =)
this is the team that i joined last minute. more of the irvine kiddos. dean, angie, brenton, adrian and me. i look like i'm squatting ready to go pee in a public restroom. sorry, i was running around. go team!
here's the mixed bunch or we can call them the commuters because they came from bakersfield, palmdale and la - thanks for the love guys! wee's brother (i don't remember his name), den, wee, mickee and emily. thanks for coming togehter guys! you guys are awesome
here's Split Happens - what a cute name! Kristin and her cousins with their matching outfits. i think the little ones outbowled Reg. just kidding reg, but not really. haha.
here's the late bunch. i think their team finally came together at 7:15. i should post the first pictures of their side ponytails and high socks - those were cute. it's henry, dorothy, trish, reg and wing (reg's little sister)
and here's the PDC team with "the hardware" - they don't have to steal a trophy anymore. they have it now. but will have to defend it. can they? who poses a challenge to them? any takers?
and yes, we all did graduate or still currently go to UCI. wow. this is the LOG/Irvine kids group. it's so nice to see everyone together! i love it!
and yes 4 of the 5 of us also went to UCI. cel is the lone bruin of the bunch but rob, lauren, joey and i are also fellow anteaters.
and we end with the lineage - in height order too! rectors from batch 31, 32, 33 and 34! whoa. that's my, reg, me and cristina. i love these girls!
and so it was a successful fundraiser. new and old faces, laughs, smiles, good times and the heart of kuya jess right in the middle of it all. can't wait for the next batch guys! it's less than a month away ... i'll post more about that later... and my crazy day at work... but that's too tiring to think about right now. ok, the full rundown of photos on gbox sometime this week.

bowling

i've been trying to post pictures for half an hour but it's not doing anything so i'll try again later. sorry - i'm going to bed. i've had a long morning.

a story from my nurse's calendar

since there's been so many deliveries lately ...

"a husband and wife were at the hospital, awaiting the birth of their child. the doctor told them she had an experimental machine that could transfer some of the pain of childbirth from the mother to the father. the couple decided to give it a try.
as the wife went into labor, the doctor set the machine to 10%, explaining that the man would probably feel more pain than he had ever known. to everyone's surprise, he felt no pain at all. the dr. slowly increased the percentage. the man still felt fine, and at last he asked to have all the pain. the amazed dr. honored his request, and the new mother concluded her delivery virtually pain free.
afterward, the couple returned home with their new baby. as they pulled in the driveway, they saw their mailman - dead on the sidewalk."

cristina's bday

we can start from here ... since i don't have my gbox any more the pictures will start from here now. here's cristina's saturday celebration - she also had a wednesday night and a friday night celebration. wow. to be 23 again. j/k. anyway, here's her first drink of the night courtesy of angie. it's a stop light. this is the drink she picked herself. some mai tai drink - but, she got to keep the glass! how cool is that?
here's when the started the balloon thing
cristina and janice - her smile is getting bigger - it may be the alcohol
that's me and my cheesy smile. i had water.
the stanford roomies: rona, cressa and meechy
the boys and eileen
angie and kathee
the dessert surprise. when did they start popping the balloon at the end? it gets really loud!
angie started clinking the glass so cristina kissed her spoon.
kay and cristina
i think this is my first picture with angie.
and of course, the group photo. cute huh?
happy birthday cristina! hope you had a good birthday week!

santi's baptism

since i am now awaiting a server, i'll post my pictures here. introducing mr. santiago enrique sandejas braganza (yes, that's four last names) isn't he cute? here's his hawaiian carrier waiting to be taken out.
look at his proud kuya helping him get dressed. eileen kept calling him sophie when he was wearing his baptismal gown
msgr. killeen did the ceremony. i thought they were going to dunk him in the water but notsomuch
there are the ninongs and ninangs giving their blessings.
and the holy chrism at the end.
welcome to the family santi!
parents, ninongs, ninangs and proxy ninangs with the newly baptized.
waiting by the water. that's joey. not so snuffy huh? hehe
at the reception ... day, herman and mike
then edvin, me and joey
back in the red room. it's like real world - the red room. me, day, eileen (with santi feeding but you can't tell) and dexie.
i think he's looking for some milk but i don't have any.
this is drexel - auntie laine's daughter - with john b. she's so cute!
tootsie and her kiddos.
i was holding santi for a while but joey and i had to go so i gave him to diana. when eileen asked, "Where's my son?" i said "I gave it to diana" eileen goes "it?" i said "i meant him" oops. sorry santi. you're a him i promise. bad tita kay, bad.

snuffy

so joey has lost his snuffalufugus title to "george." haha.
good luck with that one.
in dexie's words to joey "you lost the title, but now you're stuck with us" haha again.

Gbox

here's the email that i got from my bro-in-law today.

GBox is dead. RIP.

how sad. he's working on a new one so i will wait to post pictures.

goodbye gbox. you had a good run. i think i helped kill you because of my 10000 pix.
