just venting

so i usually love my job but this am was really hard. getting hit with an admit at 4 AM sucks. plus there's no way we can communicate. plus she's got blood everywhere from her ear draining all the way down her back. then when we're trying to settle everything down - xray comes and the trauma resident and the ENT team and the ortho team and the neurosurg team - ALL AT THE SAME TIME! meanwhile your other patient's vent pops off his trach and he has lipids and piggybacks due and he needs more potassium and magnesium and you only have 3 lines! and the other guy has 5 different drains that still need to be emptied!!!! i got out late and i shouldn't have. boo. oh well. four days off. yay!
